Brief Introduction on Concrete Science and Technology Awards for China’s Concrete and Cement Products Industry in Chinese

Concrete and cement products industry is a demand-oriented and innovation-led materials and products industry. In order to promote scientific and technological innovation in China's concrete field, accelerate the transformation and popularization of scientific and technological achievements, commend organizations and individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the industry's scientific and technological innovation, and sustain the industry's innovation-driven development, the First Council of the Eighth Session for China Concrete and Cement-based Products Association (CCPA) decided to set up the Concrete Science and Technology Awards of CCPA.

According to Regulations on State Science and Techno, Administrative Measures on the Establishment of Science and Technology Awards by Social Forces and Guiding Opinions of Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China on Further Encouraging and Standardizing the Establishment of Science and Technology Awards by Social Forces, CCPA has decided to officially initiate the Concrete Science and Technology Awards of CCPA (hereinafter referred to as the Concrete Science and Technology Awards) since 2020, report to National Office for Science & Technology Awards for fire, and fully accept the supervision and guidance of it.

The scope of the Concrete Science and Technology Awards is the scientific and technological achievements made in the field of cement concrete materials, products and their engineering applications, including the innovative achievements that have achieved important social, environmental and economic benefits in basic theoretical research of materials, material products, manufacturing technology, production equipment, engineering application technology and equipment (excluding confidential projects involving national defense and national security). Technology Innovation Awards for concrete and cement-based products industry initiated from 2011 has been incorporated into the Concrete Science and Technology Awards System since 2020.

There are five categories of Concrete Science and Technology Awards: “Basic Theory Category”, “Technical Invention Category”, “Scientific and Technological Progress Category”, “Standard Innovation Category” and “Technical Innovation Category”. Each category has three reward levels: the first prize, the second prize and the third prize, and a special prize is set for particularly significant scientific and technological achievements. Evaluation is made from the following aspects: the importance of the main achievements, the level of technological innovation, the difficulty of innovation, the degree of engineering and industrialization of the achievements, the economic or social benefits achieved, and the promotion of technological progress in related fields and industries.
