Review meeting of CCPA standard Design Specification of Green Plant for Manufacturing Lightweight Aggregates with Wastes was held by CCPA and CBMF on August 30, 2022. 37 representatives from research and architectural design institutes, industry associations, production enterprises and users attended the meeting, of which 15 were members of review committee.

The main drafter introduced the standard preparation process, the collection of comments and the test data that support the main technical requirements in the specification. The review committee reviewed all the documents, examined the specification text word by word and put forward revisions. The review committee made conclusions that technical indexes are advanced and applicable and the specification reaches international advanced level in general. Finally, the CCPA standard was approved by unanimous approval.

Design Specification of Green Plant for Manufacturing Lightweight Aggregates with Wastes innovatively puts forward the core parameters and indexes of the green plant for the preparation of light aggregate from solid wastes, clarifies the basic provisions for the design of the green plant, and puts forward the core parameters and requirements for process equipment, production control and products. Moreover, specific requirements are put forward for infrastructure, environmental pollution control, resource and energy utilization, environmental protection and occupational safety and health.

The main problems solved by this standard are the outstanding problems of small production line, high energy consumption and environmental protection indexes to be improved in light aggregate industry. Based on the index of advanced production, combined with theoretical analysis and engineering verification, the index limits of heat consumption, power consumption, nitrogen oxides, sulfur dioxide and dust in the current standard have been determined. The carbon emission reduction index is proposed for the first time to guarantee the technical progress and sustainable development of ceramsite industry. The requirements for homogenization of solid waste raw materials are put forward for the first time, and the requirements for energy saving of equipment and the basic requirements for advanced control systems are standardized. It is the first time to put forward the main indicators of the production line (requirements for land occupation and storage period), which provide a basic basis for design and plant construction.
