The dam of Baihetan Hydropower Station is a concrete hyperboloid dam. "Hyperboloid" is double curved surface in both horizontal and vertical directions. The length of the top arc is 709 meters, and the maximum dam height is 289 meters, which is equivalent to 100 stories of building height. The whole dam is made of low heat cement concrete. The total amount of low heat cement concrete is more than 8 million cubic meters.
