The 12th China International Conference on Precast Concrete Technology was held in Qingdao,Shandong Province on March 17th. The conference was hosted by CCPA Precast Concrete Component Branch and Beijing Precast/Prestressed Construction Institute Co., Ltd.; supported by Qingdao New Building Industrialization Association, Qingdao Chengyang District Bureau of Housing and Urban Construction and Qingdao Chengyang Development and Investment Group Co., Ltd.; and undertaken by National technological standard innovation base (construction engineering), the Fourth Construction Co., Ltd of China Construction Eighth Engineering Division, Qingdao New Century Precast Component Co., Ltd. and Qingdao Eihe Steel Structure Co., Ltd.. The theme of the conference is "Scientific and Technological Innovation Helps the Sustainable Development of Precast Concrete Industry".

In his welcoming speech, Zeng Lin expressed sincere welcome to the guests present in Qingdao and warm congratulations on the opening ceremony of the conference. Zeng Lin introduced that Qingdao is an active practitioner of green building materials, green construction and green city, and is the first pilot city for the construction and development of green cities in China. In recent years, it has vigorously developed green finance, green ecology, green buildings and green life, and issued the first “green building materials guarantee insurance”policy and "carbon reduction insurance" policy for public institutions.

Ding Hao introduced that the Fourth Construction Co., Ltd of China Construction Eighth Engineering Division (CSCEC84) insisted on taking root in Qingdao, building Qingdao and serving Qingdao, and built a large number of major projects and livelihood projects with high quality and efficiency, such as Qingdao International Conference Center. CSCEC84 made its contribution to the construction of Qingdao as a "vibrant ocean city and a livable and lovable city".

In his speech, Xu Yongmo analyzed that not only architecture, but also civil engineering and municipal engineering are developing in the “assembly direction”. In this conference, there will be a technical development report of wind power hybrid tower. The assembly development of engineering structures puts forward new directions and challenges for the innovation of concrete materials and products; A generation of materials requires a generation of design and a generation of engineering. The new Ultra-High Performance Concrete (UHPC) currently being developed may lead to alternative and subversive technological innovation in the field of engineering construction, which he hoped that everyone would attach great importance to it. UHPC has made great achievements in many large-scale civil engineering constructions such as bridges, changed many design concepts and solved many engineering problems and pain points.

Jiang Qinqin gave a keynote speech entitled "Thoughts and Suggestions on Innovation and Development of China's Precast Concrete Component Industry". Jiang Qinqin pointed out that the cities with large PC market in China are mainly Shanghai and Beijing, with annual output exceeding 2 million cubic meters; Shenzhen, Qingdao, Chengdu and other prefabricated assembly markets have a good development momentum. At present, the products, management and business models of China's precast enterprises are developing in the direction of diversification and differentiation, and the market competition mechanism based on regional market segmentation and specialized management is gradually established, so precast concrete factories will surely return to the era of “industrial customization”  with China's localization and specialization.

Huang Xiaokun, deputy chief engineer, doctoral supervisor and researcher of China Academy of Building Research (CABR), gave a comparative explanation of domestic and foreign standards around several problems of precast concrete structures. He believes that the standards of precast concrete structures in China are generally at the same level as those of foreign countries and are basically in line with foreign standers; As the parent standard, JGJ 1-2014 has complete and comprehensive basic provisions, and its technical provisions on equivalent cast-in-place design methods are very close to ACI550.IR-09.
