Review meeting of Building Materials sector standard was held by TC 197 on December 18, 2023, and Process Technology Code of Practice for Cement Products- Part 3: Prestressed Concrete Cylinder Pipe formulated by CCPA successfully passed the technical review.

The revised standard Process Technology Code of Practice for Cement Products- Part 3: Prestressed Concrete Cylinder Pipe was first released in December 2012 and implemented in June 2013. As basic specification that should be strictly followed in the production process of Prestressed Concrete Cylinder Pipe (PCCP), the standard has played a positive role in promoting enterprises to strengthen technical management and improve product quality. With the continuous improvement of PCCP technology and equipment level in China, the original standard can no longer meet the needs of innovative technology promotion to a certain extent. The revision was initiated in June 2021.

The standard is revised based on the investigation of the production process and actual engineering application status of PCCP production enterprises in China, combined with experimental verification of the technical parameters of PCCP production process, and fully considering the high-quality development trend and requirements of the PCCP industry. The revised standard includes clear technical requirements and key control points for each stage of the process flow, with strong operability. After the release and implementation of the standard, it will play an important role in further improving the production technology level and product quality of PCCP, expanding the market space and application fields of PCCP, and promoting industry technological progress.
