Recently, the Qingshan Plant of CSCEC actively expanded its strategic emerging business, successfully signing a contract for a large-scale foamed concrete backfilling project (4,000 m³) for Phase II of the Wuhan Liantou Center. To date, over 2,250 m³ of foamed concrete have been poured, effectively wrapping the project’s foundation pit in what could be described as a “steel light down jacket.”

Accurate Market Positioning

The Qingshan Plant’s marketing team keenly identified a market opportunity and accurately targeted client needs. Addressing the drawbacks of traditional backfilling materials—such as heavy self-weight and uneven load-bearing leading to settlement—they highlighted the core advantages of foamed concrete: lightweight, high strength, and environmental friendliness. These strengths gained the recognition of the project side and successfully led to the contract signing.

High-Standard Technical Support

After multiple trials and verifications, the technical team at Qingshan Plant finalized an optimal mix design and successfully developed foamed concrete with the following characteristics: lightweight (density ranging from 300 kg/m³ to 1800 kg/m³), adjustable strength (0.3–5.0 MPa), and high fluidity (capable of long-distance pumping with a vertical height of 100 m and a horizontal reach of 500 m).

Expanding New Business Frontiers

The innovative application of foamed concrete not only shortened the construction period and reduced costs, but also minimized energy consumption and environmental impact during the construction process. Its successful implementation has received high praise from the project stakeholders.
