On 13 November, the American Concrete Institute Singapore Chapter (ACI-SC) successfully held its 40th Anniversary Seminar at the Furama City Centre Hotel in Singapore. Invited as a key supporting organization, the China Concrete & Cement-based Products Association (CCPA) not only organized representatives from Chinese enterprises and industry experts to participate in the event and strengthen international exchange, but also provided robust support for ACI-SC’s “2025 Concrete Plaque/Souvenir Design Competition” in its organization within China.

With the theme “Concrete Innovations: Enhancing Global Synergies in Technology and Practice,” the seminar brought together 31 co-organizing institutions and sponsors. Through four thematic sessions, twelve technical presentations, and four panel discussions, the event attracted over 300 participants from Southeast Asia, Europe, the United States, and China, including industry enterprises, research institutes, and universities.
Li Zhiling, CCPA Deputy Secretary-General and Director of the International Cooperation Center, led the delegation to attend the seminar. Representatives from industry enterprises—including Guangxi Beihai Jingyi Electric Power Equipment Co., Ltd., Guangdong Redwall New Materials Co., Ltd., Jiangsu China RAILWAY Arit New MATERIALS Co., Ltd., Qinglong Pipes Industry Group Co., Ltd., Hunan Guli Engineering New Material Co., Ltd., and Sichuan Jianyang Tianfu Demolding Materials Co., Ltd.—participated in and supported the event in various forms.

Professor Tao Nengfu, President of ACI-SC, noted that 2025 marks a significant milestone for the Chapter. Since its establishment in 1985, ACI-SC has remained committed to advancing knowledge, fostering innovation, and promoting professionalism in concrete technology and construction. It has built bridges among industry practitioners, academia, and corporate partners, championing excellence, sustainability, and collaboration in Singapore and beyond. He also emphasized that this year represents an important milestone in international cooperation. On September 5th, during the China International Concrete Expo held in Guangzhou, ACI-SC and CCPA signed a Memorandum of Understanding on International Exchange and Cooperation, opening a new chapter in bilateral collaboration in professional exchange, technical seminars, and exhibition activities.

A total of twelve scholars delivered technical presentations during the seminar.

To commemorate ACI-SC’s 40th anniversary, the Chapter launched the 2025 Concrete Plaque/Souvenir Design Competition, requiring each participating team to design and fabricate a concrete monument or souvenir symbolizing ACI-SC’s 40-year journey.
After several months of intense competition among 34 teams worldwide, the three top awards—Gold, Silver, and Bronze—were all captured by teams recommended by CCPA, Guangxi Beihai Jingyi Electric Power Equipment Co., Ltd. won the Gold Award, Jiangsu China RAILWAY Arit New MATERIALS Co., Ltd. won the Silver Award, Hunan Guli Engineering New Material Co., Ltd. won the Bronze Award. Their creative integration of artistic design and concrete craftsmanship won high recognition and praise from international peers.
