As an important component of the Phase II project of the Ningbo Zhoushan Port Liuheng Highway Bridge, the Qinglongmen Grand Bridge spans the Qinglongmen Waterway, connecting Meishan Island in Ningbo and Fodu Island in Zhoushan.

The main bridge has a total length of 2,212 m with dual main spans reaching 756 m, making it the world's largest-span three-tower steel box girder cable-stayed bridge currently. This project is not only a transportation infrastructure but also a crucial support for the national marine economic development strategy.

2 Overcoming Difficulties and Making Innovative Breakthroughs

The main towers on both the Meishan Island side and the Fodu Island side topped out this time feature a diamond-shaped structure. The construction faced three major challenges: millimeter-level precision control, ultra-high structure construction at sea, and operations under complex sea conditions. Among them, concrete quality control was particularly critical. A single main tower requires a cumulative pouring of 85,000 m3 of concrete, which needs to be continuously and stably pumped from the offshore construction platform to a height of nearly 249 m. Facing this challenge, the high-performance water reducer developed by Arit reduced the viscosity of the concrete and ensured a full paste, guaranteeing the smooth topping out of the main towers.

3 Technological Safeguard and Full Participation

From the completion of the main pier pile cap construction of the Qinglongmen Bridge in July 2024, to the topping out of the first main tower of the Shuangyumen Grand Bridge in September 2025, and now the successful topping out of the dual main towers, Arit, as the concrete admixture supplier for the second and fourth work zones of the Liuheng project, has provided technical guarantees for this super project throughout the entire process.
