On November 26^th, 2017 China Concrete and Cement-based Products Association organized the scientific and technological achievement appraisal meeting for the project entitled as "Development and application of the Precast Concrete Information System", which was completed by Beijing Yantong Building Component Co., Ltd (Beijing Yantong).

In China, it has become a policy of national importance to promote the development of prefabricated buildings. Therefore, the central and local governments implemented favorable policies to support its development. Yet, there are still many restrictive factors, such as high cost, immature production technology, low annual production capacity, etc. Among them, the problem of precast concrete (PC) production management, which is relatively inefficient and lack of innovation remains a big challenge for the industry.

RFID of prefabricated component

The Precast Concrete Information System (PCIS) developed by Beijing Yantong realizes the real-time information communication and integrated the automatic management during various PC manufacture phases, starting from the design and detailing of precast concrete components, to the online monitoring of remote order and supply, the intelligent production plan, product quality control, the materials procurement, and to the on-site installation management, etc. Scope of the technical achievement includes but is not limited to the following parts.

By the end of 2017, PCIS had been applied successfully in six PC enterprises. The system greatly improves the efficiency of factory management and product quality, and reduce production and labor costs. Aside from significantly reducing its own production and management cost of PC production, Beijign Yantong has also achieved profit from technical service including software sales, equipment and RFID card sales, factory management consulting, etc.
