On August 7^th, 2018, China Concrete and Cement-based Productions Association organized and held the scientific and technological achievements appraisal meeting for the project entitled "Automatic Vertical Radial Extrusion Production Line for 1650-millimeter Diameter Concrete Pipes" completed by Qinhuangdao Funing Concrete Co. Ltd (Qinhuangdao Funing).

Equipment for medium sized vertical radial extrusion pipes

Radial extrusion pipe production process is believed to have various advantages including high efficiency and automation, low labor and energy intensity, and environmental friendly features, etc. It is the preferred process for the production of small and medium diameter reinforced concrete drainage pipes. However, to realize the high efficiency and production capacity, it is required that radial extrusion pipe production process should integrate corollary facilities into a complete production line. At the same time, the price of production lines available on international market is too high for a reasonable commercial choice in China.

Automatic clamp for large diameter radial extrusion pipe

Based on years of experience and in-depth investigations on the concrete pipe industry, Qinhuangdao Funing determined its commercial interest in the core mold vibration and radial extrusion techniques and dedicated itself to the innovative development of the project entitled “Automatic Vertical Radial Extrusion Production Line for medium sized Concrete Pipes”. By adopting automatic hoisting technology, two pieces of single opening mould, vertical guide positioning spreader, special clamp and automatic control program, Qinhuangdao Funing developed the first domestic automatic production line for small and medium sized concrete pipes with diameters from 800mm to 1650mm using vertical radial extrusion technique.

Vertical demoulding device

The application of vertical radial extrusion process improves the company's competitiveness on the Chinese market, improves the production efficiency and capacity, reduces the factory occupation and investment. The high degree of automation improves the product quality and reduces the total labor cost. The production line achieved welcome from the concrete pipe market and the products have been used in many key projects such as the Hebei Garden Expo. The production efficiency and product quality of the production line reach the level of the same type of automatic production line in Europe, yet the investment is only 5% of the latter. It is expected that the production line has a prosperous future and will be widely used in the concrete pipe industry.
