Vertical Radial Extrusion Equipment for Medium Sized Concrete Pipes

On August 14th, 2018, China Concrete and Cement-based Productions Association organized and held the scientific and technological achievements appraisal meeting for the project entitled " Vertical Radial Extrusion Equipment for Medium Sized Concrete Pipes " completed by Jiangsu Weiziman Machinery Co. Ltd (Jiangsu Weiziman).


In recent years, with vigorous development of infrastructure construction and continuous promotion of urbanization in China, the market demand for small and medium-sized concrete drainage pipes keeps increasing. At the same time, the national environmental protection policies are becoming more and more strict. The pipe making enterprises are in urgent need for highly efficient and environment-friendly pipe making technology and equipment as a replace to the traditional ones. Introduced from abroad, the vertical radial extrusion pipe making process and equipment have been investigated, developed, and improved by Chinese companies, which are gradually adopted by domestic pipe making enterprises. However, there is still a lack of domestic vertical radial extrusion pipe making equipment to produce pipes with diameter above 1200. In order to solve this problem, Jiangsu Weiziman set up a project entitled as “Vertical Radial Extrusion Equipment for Medium Sized Concrete Pipes” and made cooperation with Qinhuangdao Funing Cement Pipe Co., Ltd. to take the lead in developing the domestic vertical radial extrusion pipe making equipment with diameter up to 1650 mm.

The project developed the first domestic production equipment for medium sized concrete pipes with diameter up to 1650 mm using vertical radial extrusion technique. A new type of extrusion head was developed, which can provide a large extrusion force stably and effectively. The lateral air supply device of the steel cage positioner in the mold, the stable lifting device of the power head with single oil cylinder and chain are developed, and the main frame structure with high stability is designed.


The concrete pipe equipment developed in this project has successfully produced the B-type socket and spigot pipes with flexible joints with diameters of 1350 mm, 1400 mm, 1500 mm and 1650 mm. The production time of a single 3-meter-long concrete pipes with diameter larger than 1200mm is reduced to about 4 minutes, and the output of single shift reaches up to 120 pipes, which is a big leap forward since the original centrifugal and hanging roll production equipment can only produce 40 pipes per shift of the same workforce.


The project developed the first domestic vertical radial extrusion pipe equipment to make medium sized concrete pipes up to1650 diameter. Its performance has reached the advanced level of similar equipment on the global market, yet the price is only 1/3 to 1/4 of the latter. It is believed that with high production efficiency, low labor intensity and reduced investment, the equipment has high promotion value and a prosperous future on the global market.
