Review meeting of CCPA standard Technical Specification for Cast-in-situ Construction of Ultra-high Performance Concrete and Technical Specification for Production of Ultra-high Performance Concrete Precast Components was held by CCPA and CBMF in Beijing on May 22 to 23. 25 representatives from research and architectural design institutes, industry associations, concrete producers, construction companies and users attended the meeting, of which 15 were members of review committee.

The main drafters of the two standards introduced the standard preparation process, the collection of comments and the test data that support the main technical requirements in the standard respectively. The review committee reviewed all the documents, examined the standard text word by word and put forward revisions. The review committee made conclusions that technical indexes of both the two standards are advanced and applicable, the test methods are operable and they both reach international advanced level in general. Finally, the two CCPA standards were approved by unanimous approval.

Technical Specification for Cast-in-situ Construction of Ultra-high Performance Concrete specifies the basic requirements, materials, trial mix and trial pouring, construction and quality inspection of UHPC cast-in-situ construction. According to the characteristics of UHPC, this standard takes the lead in putting forward the requirements of trial pouring prior to commencement of construction. Moreover, it provides specific control measures for UHPC to meet the requirements of uniformity and structure in mixing, vibrating and other processes.

Technical Specification for Production of Ultra-high Performance Precast Concrete Components has standardized the basic regulations, materials, trial mix and trial production, production and quality inspection of UHPC precast components. According to the characteristics of UHPC precast components, the standard takes the lead in putting forward the requirements of trial production before the first piece acceptance, and makes targeted provisions in the aspects of pouring, forming, curing and production process of UHPC precast components.

As parts of a series of UHPC standards, based on the domestic investigation and verification work at home and abroad, the two standards summarize the research achievements and experience of UHPC cast-in-site construction and precast components production in recent years in China. The implementation of the two standards will be of great guiding significance to supplement the UHPC standard system, improve the construction quality of UHPC cast-in-site construction and the production quality of precast components, and thus to promote the sound and rapid development of UHPC technology.
