Vice dean of Hebei Province Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Development Coordination Committee said on a on-the-spot meeting that the development of Xiongan New Area started comprehensive construction phase, citing from a circular by Xinhua Agency. Four comprehensive layouts and 25 key specific plans have finished drafting and completed consulting and verification. At the same time, the overall layout and environmental treatment and protective design of Baiyang Lake have been reported to superior unit in accordance with procedures. In the future, the government will focus on the construction of Beijing-Xiongan Railway, environment treatment of Baiyang Lake, large-scale afforestation, etc. A series of mega projects will be started, and it is expected to initiate the construction within this year.

Xiongan New Area has issued bidding invitation for infrastructure projects, indicating that massive construction is “just about to launch”. The public announcement by government officials that the construction would come soon is an indication that the Xiongan New Area has converted itself from a concept to reality. Participants of Xiongan New Area construction projects will get long-lasting attention from observers in market.

Based on available information, within this year the investment for Xiongan New Area will be around 300 billion RMB, mainly focusing on infrastructure and industrial development. Over 230 billion RMB investment will be put into the construction of railways, roadways, drainage system, ecology restoration and household relocation. According to information showing from the recent bidding projects, projects of environment treatment and protection will probably be the “first round” candidate among the massive construction projects in Xiongan New Area.
