The sub forum of 6^th Jinggangshan Forum, e.g., the Ultra High Perfomance Concrete Material Forum was held in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province on July 30^th, 2019. The sub forum was hosted by China Concrete and Cement-based Products Association (CCPA) and was organized by UHPC branch of CCPA.

UHPC is probably the most vibrant area in concrete sector of research, application, innovation and development. UHPC improves the performance of cement-based products and structures, prolongs the life of the structure, and provides a better engineering material to develop new products and structures. The material has fulfilled more challenging requirements for projects, structures and products, such as lightweight and high strength structure, durable and maintenance-free structures, the decorative yet fire-proof elements, sustainable and low energy-consuming materials, etc. Zhao Jun, secretary of UHPC branch, introduced during the opening ceremony that the main purpose of the forum was to share the knowledge and experience, to enlighten the innovation and creativity, and make detailed discussions over technical challenges and the development trend.

President Xu Yongmo gave a welcome speech. He said during the development of cement-based materials towards high performance, UHPC has given the most steadfast and promising opportunity, with the help of high performance chemical admixture and based on numerous research on and deep understanding of the micro-structure of concrete. Currently, there are still problems to be solved since the theory and application are far from being mature. The forum today is an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas and promote innovations for professionals in UHPC sector.

President Xu said that UHPC broke through multiple limits of cement-based materials, both in its material and application performance. UHPC provides us more space for development and imagination through coordination between raw materials, enhancement of cement performance, introduction of fiber reinforcement, and cooperation with other structural materials. The application of UHPC has just started. Once the advantage and performance are recognized by the sector, the research and application of UHPC will be even more active. President Xu said that he wished that UHPC, although initiated from abroad, should grow and be applied successfully in China.
