The main bridge of Changtai Yangtze River Bridge is the longest span cable-stayed bridge for highway and railway under construction in the world. The 4266-meter continuous steel truss girder used in the main girder of the bridge in the combined section of highway and railway is also the largest continuous length steel truss girder under construction in the world. The bridge has achieved "four world firsts" in terms of new structure, new materials, new equipment, new technology, etc.: the first pylon-girder longitudinal restraint system capable of temperature adaptation (TARS); the first scour-reducing stepped caisson foundation (SRCF); the first "steel box-core concrete" cable- tower composite anchorage; and the first "steel-concrete" hybrid structure space diamond-type pylon.

The main bridge consists of main channel bridge, Lu 'anzhou special ship channel bridge and non-navigable bridge, Tianxingzhou special ship channel bridge and cross-strait north-south approach bridge. Among them, Lu 'anzhou non-navigable bridge is a 3× 124m continuous steel truss bridge. The steel truss girder is divided into 27 internodes, with a total weight of 17,500 tons with a 14 meter single standard internode. The steel truss girder has a truss height of 15.2m and a center-to-center spacing of 35m.
According to Wei Xiaoning, technical director of Changtai Yangtze River Bridge project of ZTMBEC, the steel truss girder of Lu 'anzhou non-navigable bridge was erected from north to south. The first joint of the steel truss girder erected this time is located at the No.8 pier of Lu 'anzhou non-navigable bridge. The maximum weight of truss members is 84 tons and the hoisting height is 70 meters. After the steel truss girder is pre-assembled in the factory, it is first transported by water to the lifting dock in the Yangtze River, then to the pier 8 by the beam truck, and the members are lifted to the upper deck by the lifting station, and finally hoisted by the 100-ton full-slewing girder erection crane. At present, the main bridge of Changtai Yangtze River Bridge has entered into the superstructure construction stage.
