The project of “Rotary station pipe machine with raising and vibrating core mould” by Huaian Thick Stone Machinery Equipment Co., Ltd. won the third prize of 2020 CCPA Concrete Science and Technology Award (Technology Innovation).
Labor intensity of cement products manufacturing industry is high. The shortage of labor is one of the factors restricting the development of cement products manufacturer. Highly automatic equipment is an inevitable choice to improve production efficiency and reduce production cost.

Rotary station pipe machine with raising and vibrating core mould
This research team combined the advantages of radial extrusion and core mould vibration technology, designed and manufactured the rotary station pipe machine with raising and vibrating moulds. The rotary station pipe machine with raising and vibrating moulds solved the defects existing in the prior production process by traditional equipments and realized "the same quality by core mould vibration equipment, the same efficiency by radial extrusion equipment". The concrete is poured along the inner wall of the outer mould. Through the raising of the inner mould, the concrete is evenly distributed in the cavity of the inner and outer mould, vibrated, and compacted, which speeds up the blanking progress and improves the production efficiency.
The main innovations of the project are as follows.
l Lifting mechanism with movable platform
Lifting mechanism is consisted of two hydraulic cylinders and a control station. The two hydraulic cylinders are assembled with core mould, can move inside and out of the cavity of the external mould, the speed of which is controlled by the control station. Core mould can vibrate by the vibrating mandrel inside, can promote the concrete paste to enter the cavity of the internal and external formwork at a faster speed in a larger space.
l Rotary station with two working positions
There are two working positions on the rotary station, Position 1 is for forming, and Position 2 is for cleaning and embellishing.
l Cleaning and embellishing
In Position 2 on the rotary station, there is rotating ring moving up and down to clean and embellish the inner wall of concrete pipes, especially forΦ300-Φ600 pipes.
l Two sets of external moulds
The traditional core mould vibration equipment adopts a set of mould for continuous production, which is separated from the internal mould and external mould on the working position. The concrete pipes stand on the bottom tray, which is transported by forklift to the maintenance area. Two sets of external moulds could protect the pipe out of collapse and bending deformation.

The rotary station pipe machine with raising and vibrating moulds realizes "the same quality by core mould vibration equipment, the same efficiency by radial extrusion equipment". This set of equipment shows advantages in product quality, production efficiency, production cost, and labor intensity, and also in small-diameter pipes production. It provides a cost-effective choice for drainage pipe manufacturers in expanding production capacity, reducing labor and multi specification pipe production.
