The project of "Key technology of decorative molding fair-faced concrete precast components" by Beijing Yantong Building Components Co., Ltd won the third prize of 2020 CCPA Concrete Science and Technology Award (Technology Innovation).

In the design and construction of prefabricated buildings, in order to make the facade of the building beautiful, the traditional decoration methods are brushing, painting, paving ceramic tiles, and hanging stone curtain wall. However, these methods consume a lot of labor time and materials, which greatly increases the project cost.

Decorative modeling fair-faced concrete surface has been more and more applied. Compared with painting, ceramic tiles and stone curtain wall, decorative fair-faced concrete surface has the advantages of strong artistic expression, long service life and low maintenance cost.

The main innovations of the project are as follows.

lYantong research team has developed the elastic lining molding process, which provides a technical support for the production of decorative molding fair-faced concrete components. 

lThe research on the mix proportion and the appearance quality control technology of fair-faced concrete are systematically carried out.

lThrough the comparative study on the protection effects of various series of fair-faced concrete surface protective materials, the selection standards of surface protective materials and systems are determined

Through the technologies of this project, high-quality decorative fair-faced concrete facing wallboards have been applied in Beijing Tongzhou Turnover Apartments and received good results.
