On December 25, 2021, the pouring of RCC (roller compacted concrete) of the Tanzania Hydropower Station dam was closed. The continuous pouring and rising height reached 41.2 meters, and the pouring volume was 166,000 cubic meters. Both the continuous rise height and the pouring volume of a single bin set a new record for the Powerchina's roller compacted concrete pouring.

Constrained by the structural layout of the dam and the construction procedures, the silo on the left bank of the dam was continuously poured and raised in four phases.

The first phase EL94.8-EL108.15 L1-L2 dam section rises 13.35 meters

The second phase EL108.15-EL119 L1-L4 dam section rises 24.2 meters

The third phase EL119-EL130.5 L1-L5 dam section rises 35.7 meters

The fourth phase EL130.5-EL136 L1-L5 dam section rises 41.2 meters

Affected by the structure, the installation of the top cover of the middle corridor of the dam must be stopped. In order to ensure the quality of pouring and ensure the effect of interlayer bonding, when the pouring reaches the elevation of EL130.30, staff will be arranged to start the formwork on the downstream side of the two dam sections of the installation work. On December 14 2021, the dam was poured to the elevation of the corridor floor, and the downstream formwork of the corridor was installed and reinforced in place, and the project owner agreed to continue the upgrade. The pouring task was successfully completed on December 25 2021.
