The Tianan Sunshine Plaza project has been widely concerned since its construction in 2014, which has saturated social media platforms with its unique construction technology and design. The "Art Texture Spatial Configuration Fair-faced Concrete Structure Construction Technology" used in this project also won the second prize of the 2021 CCPA Concrete Science and Technology Award (Technology Innovation Category). Recently, we also came here to find out the secretes of its population.

The project was under the general construction contract of Shanghai Construction No.1 (Group)Co., Ltd., which was divided into three projects, namely, the west plot, the east plot and the municipal corridor. The west block has been completed, which is divided into three floors underground and nine floors above ground, with a total construction area of about 10,000 square meters.

It's like walking into a karst landform with thousands of rocks. Hundreds of well- arranged special-shaped fair-faced concrete give a strong support of thousands of green plants which are full of vitality, showing nature's uncanny workmanship. It turns out that architecture and art can be so integrated and regenerated so well.

Inside the shopping mall, there are a number of giant stone pillars with "tree crowns", which echo with their external style of design.

Developing template through repeated test
Overcoming the problem of special-shaped fold
For highly artistic buildings, Shanghai Construction No.1 (Group)Co., Ltd., has set up a research group for the construction of fair-faced concrete structures with special-shaped folds. After a year and a half of repeated tests, FRP was positioned as the liner material of composite formwork, which solved the major problem of fair-faced concrete structures with special-shaped folds. And as far as possible, it made the corner and column joint of the steel formwork uniform and consistent in geometric size when pressed, without deformation or slurry leakage, and made the joint between the interface and the corner fit tightly. After the test and continuous improvement, the lines and textures of the fair-faced concrete column after formwork removal were clear and obvious, which meet the artistic demand of the fair-faced concrete structure.



The project team also developed a template preparation technology combining lining layer and panel layer, which made the surface of fair-faced concrete structure show complex texture artistic effect.

Multi-test high strength proportioning
Guarantee the construction quality of fair-faced concrete
In order to ensure the construction quality of fair-faced concrete, the project team completed the sample test of fair-faced concrete column with equal proportion of 1:1 before the formal construction of basement structure, and simulated the operation procedures such as steel binding, bent erection, formwork installation, concrete pouring, etc., which not only provided the evaluation standard of the follow-up construction for the owner and design, but also provided a model recommendation for the follow-up construction.

It was reported that the "Art Texture Spatial Configuration Fair-faced Concrete Structure Construction Technology" independently developed by Shanghai Construction No.1 (Group)Co., Ltd., won the third prize of Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award in 2020. The research results of fair-faced concrete have obtained one invention patent authorization and one utility model authorization, forming the independent intellectual property rights of the system. This technology has also been popularized and applied in the C13-1 commercial plot project of Jiading New City.
