At 3 o'clock on the afternoon of February 9th, 2022，at the construction site of No.5 Bid of Wuhan-Yichang section of Shanghai-Chongqing-Chengdu High-speed Railway of China Railway 11th Bureau Group Co., Ltd, with the slow injection of the last truck of concrete, the first pile of the main pier of Hanjiang Railway Bridge in Zhongxiang of Hubei Province, the world's largest span concrete beam cable-stayed bridge of high-speed railway, was successfully poured, which marked that the main bridge of the project has entered the substantive construction stage, and it is expected that the main bridge will be completed in April 2024.

According to Lu Jingpo, deputy chief engineer of No.5 Bid project Department of Wuhan-Yichang section of Shanghai-Chongqing-Chengdu High-speed Railway, as the control project of the whole line of Wuhan-Yichang section of Shanghai-Chongqing-Chengdu High-speed Railway, Zhongxiang Hanjiang Railway Grand Bridge has a total length of 547.5m and a main span of 270m, which is currently the largest span concrete beam cable-stayed bridge of high-speed railway in the world with difficult construction proceedings.

The reporter saw at the construction site that under the precise control of the workers, the concrete mixer truck poured the first pile of the main pier of the main bridge, and the whole pouring process lasted for more than six hours.

It is reported that there are 20 pile foundations in the 317# main pier of Hanjiang Railway Grand Bridge in Zhongxiang city, with 2.5m diameter of the pile foundation poured for the first time, 68m of the pile length, and 340 cubic meters of concrete poured. Facing the heavy construction task and tight time of the main bridge, the project department of No.5 Bid of Wuhan-Yichang section of Shanghai-Chongqing-Chengdu high-speed railway optimized the construction scheme, and with the help of the dry season, opened more working faces, quickly completed the erection of trestle bridge and drilling platform, turned water into land construction, and saved the construction period by one and a half months.

As the first opening section of Wuhan-Yichang section of Shanghai-Chongqing-Chengdu high-speed railway, its No.5 Bid is located in Jingmen, with a total length of 47.2km. From the east bank of Zhongxiang Hanjiang Railway Grand Bridge to the crossing of Jiaozuo-Liuzhou Railway of Suji Village Grand Bridge in Zhanghe Town, Zhanghe New District, 18 bridges and 3 tunnels will be built.
