Recently, in Liaocheng City Xinghua Bridge across Tuhai River, a carbon fiber reinforced cable-stayed bridge in China constructed by the First Company of China Eighth Engineering Bureau Ltd., was completed and opened to traffic.

Recently, in Liaocheng City Xinghua Bridge across Tuhai River, a carbon fiber reinforced cable-stayed bridge in China constructed by the First Company of China Eighth Engineering Bureau Ltd., was completed and opened to traffic.

 

The project is located in the central urban area of Liaocheng. It is planned and designed with the theme of "Lotus in Lake ". It has a total length of 388.285 meters and a design speed of 50 kilometers per hour. The bridge adopts a two-way 6-lane design and is a key livelihood project in Liaocheng City.

Carbon fiber and its composites are widely used in national defense, aerospace, automobile manufacturing and other fields. Liaocheng Xinghua Bridge across Tuhai River, which uses carbon fiber materials in stay cables, has a very high national strategic position.

Carbon fiber cable for Xinghua Bridge is composed of carbon fiber, resin matrix and fiber/resin interface. It has lightweight and high-strength, which can reduce the self-weight of the structure, and has excellent durability and fatigue resistance.

The standard strength of the stay cable is 1770MPa, and the maximum weight of the single stay cable is 3.12 tons. The stay cables are arranged in spatial hyperboloid sector。There are 72 stay cables in the whole bridge, among which the carbon fiber reinforced stay cables can hold a maximum weight of more than 1000 tons.

Technology | Advanced construction technology

 

Concrete with high ductility used in the bridge can be combined with the steel beam surface, reduce the rigid impact and prolong the service time of the bridge. The tensile strength of this concrete is 10 times that of common concrete, and its fracture ductility is 200 times that of common concrete. After the steel box girder is combined with ultra-high ductility concrete as a whole, the local stiffness of the bridge deck is increased by 40 times, and the risk of fatigue cracking of the steel bridge deck is greatly reduced. Ultral high performance concrete (UHPC) is used for the pavement of motor vehicle deck of the main bridge, which has ultra-high strength and durability and belongs to the domestic advanced construction technology.
