From March 25 to 27, 2026, the "Second Ultra-High Performance Concrete (UHPC) Technology Training Class" successfully concluded in Beijing.
From March 25 to 27, 2026, the "Second Ultra-High Performance Concrete (UHPC) Technology Training Class," co-hosted by the China Concrete and Cement-based Products Association (CCPA) and the CCPA Ultra-High Performance Cementitious Materials and Application Branch (hereinafter referred to as the "Branch"), and co-organized by the Beijing Building Materials Academy of Scientific Research, successfully concluded in Beijing. This training attracted technical backbones, management personnel, as well as university faculty and students from UHPC-related R&D, production, design, construction, and research institutes across the country, who gathered to explore the cutting edge of UHPC technology and support the high-quality development of the industry.

On-Site Visit Kicks Off the Learning Journey
On the afternoon of March 25, the training class organized an on-site visit and exchange for all trainees at the Beijing Building Materials Academy of Scientific Research (hereinafter referred to as the "BBMA").

The visit kicked off with a warm welcome speech by Zhang Ming, Assistant General Manager of BBMG Group, and Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the Academy. Dr. Li Yang, Vice President of the New Materials Research Institute of BBMA, hosted the welcome ceremony. Liu Pengfei, Deputy Director of the Science and Technology Innovation Department of BBMA, introduced the development overview of BBMA and the inspection institute to the trainees.

Trainees visited the exhibition hall and the National Key Laboratory of BBMA in groups, gaining a deep understanding of BBMA’s scientific research accumulation and innovative achievements in the field of building materials. Subsequently, they proceeded to the UHPC mixing practical operation and mechanical property testing site to closely observe the entire process of UHPC materials from mixing to performance testing. Through the field visit, trainees comprehensively understood every stage of UHPC materials from R&D to testing, achieving an effective integration of theory and practice.


Grand Opening Ceremony Forges Industry Consensus

On the morning of March 26, the opening ceremony of the training class was held at the Grand Kingtown Hotel. As an outstanding representative of a new generation of engineering materials, UHPC is reshaping the technological landscape in the field of civil engineering with its ultra-high strength, remarkable toughness, and excellent durability. Its annual usage volume has already exceeded 200,000 m3. The maturity and popularization of any new technology are inseparable from talent support, and CCPA has always regarded talent cultivation as an important pillar to promote the high-quality development of the industry. The opening ceremony was hosted by Ma Xueying, Director of the Vocational Education and Training Department of CCPA. Zhao Yun, Secretary-General of the Branch; Professor Wu Xiangguo of Harbin Institute of Technology; Song Dongsheng, President of the Jiangxi Association of Bulk Cement and Ready-mixed Concrete; as well as representatives from various supporting units and all trainees, attended the opening ceremony.

Expert Lectures: Systematic and Pragmatic Curriculum
After the opening ceremony, the two-day systematic training officially began. This training class invited authoritative experts in the domestic UHPC field to serve as lecturers. The curriculum was systematic and comprehensive, covering core contents such as the integrated design of material and structure, preparation technology, interpretation of domestic and foreign standards, as well as component production and cast-in-place construction.

Professor Wu Xiangguo of Harbin Institute of Technology delivered a lecture on the "Integrated Design of UHPC Material and Structure," deeply analyzing the key points of UHPC in engineering applications from the perspective of synergy between structural design and material performance.
Professor Yu Rui of Wuhan University of Technology taught "UHPC Preparation Technology," systematically explaining the raw material selection, mix proportion design, and performance regulation methods of UHPC. After the courses, trainees had in-depth exchanges with the experts regarding technical difficulties encountered in their actual work.
Professor Han Jianguo of Tsinghua University taught "UHPC Domestic Standards," providing a detailed interpretation of the relevant domestic standard systems.
Senior Engineer Zhao Yun, Secretary-General of the Branch, provided comprehensive technical guidance to the trainees by comparing domestic and foreign standards in his course "UHPC Foreign Standards". In his course "UHPC Component Production and Cast-in-Place Construction," Professor Zhao thoroughly explained the key processes of UHPC component production and technical points of cast-in-place construction, combining numerous practical engineering case studies.
During the interactive Q&A sessions, trainees enthusiastically asked questions and engaged in lively interactions with the lecturers. Connecting with their own practical work, trainees had in-depth discussions with experts on UHPC preparation, material performance regulation, standard application, and construction processes. The atmosphere was highly engaging, and the learning outcomes were remarkable.
