On March 22, during the 15th Precast Concrete Technology Forum, nearly a hundred industry experts and peers visited the Precast Concrete Intelligent Manufacturing and Low-Carbon Industrial Park of Beijing Yugou Precast Concrete Engineering (hereinafter referred to BYPCE). They conducted on-site visits and exchanges centered around the theme “Opening a New Chapter with Green and Low-Carbon, Composing a Brilliant Movement with Digital Intelligence.” As the vice-president unit of the China Concrete and Cement-based Products Association (hereinafter referred to CCPA), BYPCE utilized this industrial park to comprehensively showcase to the industry its systematic capabilities in precast concrete—from R&D and design to intelligent production, from equipment manufacturing to scenario application, and from green construction to low-carbon operations.

Viewing the Green and Low-Carbon Demonstration Through a Building
At the first stop of the tour, Liu Hao, Chief Engineer of BYPCE and Director of the Sci-Tech Innovation Center, provided an overview of the BYPCE, the overall layout of the industrial park, and the Sci-Tech Innovation Center office building. As the country's first ultra-low energy, zero-carbon, fully prefabricated building, the Sci-Tech Innovation Center office building itself is a concentrated embodiment of BYPCE's green and low-carbon capabilities.
The project was designed by the Beijing Precast Building Engineering Research Institute, a subsidiary of BYPCE, and its construction was spearheaded by BYPCE. It serves as a core demonstration project for the "14th Five-Year Plan" national key R&D program, specifically the "Multi-functional Integrated Cement-based Envelope Structure System." With a building area of 6,400 m2, it integrates seven major systems—including high-performance exterior wall components, highly energy-efficient equipment, ground-source heat pumps, photovoltaic power generation, and smart building control—forming a complete technological pathway from intrinsic energy conservation to intelligent management and control.
More importantly, the significance of this building goes beyond being the "first" or a "demonstration." Supported by precast fair-faced concrete exterior wall panels, a prefabricated frame-shear wall structure, an ultra-low energy envelope system, and dual systems for environmental monitoring and energy consumption management, it translates the concept of green buildings into an engineering practice. For BYPCE, it is not only the office and research hub of the industrial park but also a physical prototype for green and low-carbon demonstration projects, directly answering the industry's critical question: "How can green and low-carbon principles truly be implemented in the precast concrete industry?"

Viewing the New Future of Intelligent Manufacturing Through Product Lines
At the intelligent segment production line, Zhao Lihui, Director of the BYPCE Equipment R&D Center, highlighted to the visiting guests the country's first digital and intelligent shield tunnel segment production line, independently researched and built by Hebei Yugou Equipment Technology Co., Ltd., a group subsidiary. Recognized by the CCPA as reaching a world-leading level, this production line is a landmark achievement for BYPCE in the field of intelligent manufacturing for precast concrete.
Unlike traditional production lines, this line is not merely an accumulation of standalone equipment. Instead, through the deep integration of AI, robotics, and digital systems, it has reconstructed the organizational and quality control methods of shield segment production. Its most prominent highlight is the deployment of 9 robots—a leading number within the industry—enabling highly efficient collaborative operation across key production stages. This fully demonstrates BYPCE's leading capabilities in the integration of intelligent equipment and scenario-based applications.
Meanwhile, the production line is equipped with the "BYPCE Digital Intelligent Control Platform," which integrates systems such as production control, MES management, digital twins, and intelligent curing. It provides real-time, full-scenario visualization and dynamic monitoring of the status of production, equipment, and personnel, accelerating the transition of segment production from traditional manufacturing to a new stage of digital and intelligent manufacturing characterized by data-driven operations, intelligent decision-making, and full-process controllability.

Within the same workshop, Zhao Lihui further introduced the intelligent sleeper production line. Together with the shield segment line, it forms an intelligent workshop that demonstrates the extension and reuse of BYPCE's intelligent manufacturing capabilities across different precast product scenarios. One of its representative achievements is the self-developed intelligent laser wire-cutting equipment for sleepers. Integrating technologies such as robotic motion control, laser point positioning via cloud-based technology, and high-speed laser cutting, this equipment can automatically identify and locate the reinforcement layout and spatial orientation of prestressed sleepers, achieving safe, efficient, and continuous cutting.

The final stop of the tour was the smart bridge production line, presented by Zhao Liming, Head of Technical Quality at Hebei Yugou Equipment Technology Co., Ltd. Showcased here is not point-to-point automation, but a complete automated production system tailored for bridge prefabrication. Independently designed and built by BYPCE, this production line introduces a mobile pedestal production process and has achieved autonomous optimization in key stages such as reinforcement processing, material distribution, curing, tensioning, and grouting. It has established a full-process information system from material entry to finished product dispatch, ensuring that the production process is visible, controllable, and traceable. This signifies that BYPCE is not only continuing to deeply cultivate fields such as residential PC (precast concrete), rail transit, and municipal components but is also serving industrialized bridge construction with a more mature intelligent manufacturing system.

From the Sci-Tech Innovation Center office building to the intelligent production lines, what is exhibited at BYPCE's "Precast Concrete Intelligent Manufacturing and Low-Carbon Industrial Park" is not a stack of fragmented technologies, but a comprehensive set of future-oriented industrialization capabilities. Led by R&D and design, centered on intelligent manufacturing, and demonstrated by green and low-carbon applications, it connects the key links of the precast concrete industry chain, forming a full-scenario application center that can be showcased, replicated, and promoted.
Looking to the future, BYPCE will continue to be driven by scientific and technological innovation, supported by intelligent manufacturing, and guided by green and low-carbon principles. It will continuously propel the precast concrete industry toward higher efficiency, higher quality, and lower energy consumption, contributing more BYPCE practices to the high-quality development of the industry.
