The visit of Mr. Glen Peñalanda, Commercial Counselor of the Philippine Embassy in China, laid a good foundation for the close cooperation between CCPA and the Embassy of the Philippines.
In the morning of June 4, 2020, Mr. Glen Peñalanda, Commercial Counselor of the Philippine Embassy and Ms. Serena Zhao Xiaoran, Trade and Investment Promotion Officer of the Philippine Embassy, visited the China Concrete and Cement-based Products Association. Executive President Dr. Xu Yongmo of CCPA had an in-depth exchange with Mr. Glen Penaranda. Ms Huang Ling and Mr Chen Long from CCPA’s Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Department, and Dr. Chen Yu, Director of the Science and Technology Department, also participated.

Executive President Dr Xu Yongmo first extended a warm welcome to Mr. Glen Penaranda and Ms Serena Zhao, and he introduced the basic situation of China's cement industry, concrete and cement-based products industry, infrastructure construction and overseas investment by Chinese enterprises.

Mr Glenn indicated that the Philippines is a partner of China’s Belt and Road Initiative. Philippines issued a "Build Build Build Program" for large-scale infrastructure construction, especially in towns, commercial and residential communities, and industrial parks from 2017-2023. Now China and the Philippines have great potential for cooperation, and Chinese enterprises are also welcome to invest and develop in the Philippines.

President Dr. Xu Yongmo and Counselor Mr. Glenn exchanged ideas on cooperation of industry standards, technological innovation, information exchange, and joint development of other overseas markets. The two sides are planing to invite a delegation of top construction companies in Philippines to visit member companies and participate in the 2020 China International Concrete Expo.
President Dr. Xu Yongmo also briefly introduced the product export and investment intentions of Huaxin Cement and Hangjia New Materials. Dr Xu hoped to receive further assistance and support from the Commercial Office of the Philippine Embassy in China.

CCPA will further implement the working mechanism with the Commercial Office of the Philippine Embassy in Beijing, strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the Philippine government, industry associations, and enterprises. In the future, it will also launch a policy briefing on investment in the Philippines in a timely manner to fully assist the CCPA members to enter the Philippine market.
