Hydropower Ninth Bureau is building a concrete gravity dam: the core length breaks the world record
On March 26, the Ninth Bureau of Hydropower, a subsidiary of PowerChina, successfully took out a concrete core sample with a diameter of 200 mm and a length of 26.2 meters at the world’s highest RCC gravity dam-Tibet DG Hydropower Station, breaking the 25.9 meters created in China before. Construction starts on second phase of Changjiang plant
First concrete has been poured today for the basemat of unit 3 at the Changjiang nuclear power plant in China's Hainan province. The move came after the National Nuclear Safety Administration issued a construction licence to China Huaneng Group for the construction of units 3 and 4 at the site. The Hualong One units will be the first large pressurised water reactor project in which Huaneng will hold a controlling stake.
